The lecture explores the development of English interior decoration from Norman times
in 1066, through the Tudors and medieval period, the fashion in Europe, the styles of
the 17th, 18th, 19th and 20th centuries, the Japanese fascination, William Morris
and Colefax and Fowler to present day.
Ann Gore is freelance teacher of Decorative Arts. Lectured extensively in USA and
in Canada and Australia for ASFAS and the Australian Academy of Decorative Arts.
Publications include The History of English Interiors and Old English Villages.
